TURN WEB VISITORS INTO LEADS AND CUSTOMERS

“Conversion Results provided us a web based lead generation approach that tripled the number of leads our “homemade” system was generating. What’s more, the cost per lead generated is much lower than other marketing efforts we’ve employed. We also have a much more disciplined approach to marketing which allows us to intelligently tweak different aspects of it to improve performance.”

1. What is a landing page?

A landing page is a page of a website designed to provide information for a specific visitor about a specific topic. Landing pages are often used in conjunction with search engine strategies such as pay-per-click. A typical example is that a company with multiple products would create a landing page to detail each one individually – traffic interested in that particular product would bypass the homepage, and be directed straight to the relevant landing page.

2. What is landing page optimization?

Landing page optimization is the process of systematically testing and refining landing pages to create maximum conversion rate. Page elements such as headline, sub heads, use of imagery, body copy, calls to action, testimonials, etc are often tweaked to come up with the best converting page.

3. What is meant by website ‘conversion’?

The concept of ‘conversion’ is based on the notion that your web site should do more than just look good. Assuming that you either want to use the web as a direct marketing medium, generating either leads or sales, you can calculate your ‘conversion rate’ by dividing the number of ‘action-takers’ into the number of visitors (multiply by 100 for a percentage).

Website conversion rate is impacted by elements such as messaging, graphic design, use of calls to action, site structure, etc.

4. What is A/B split testing?

A/B split testing is a technique perfected in the direct mail industry. It involves sending different offers to samples of the target audience and measuring which one gets the best response rate. On the web, split testing allows different page elements (such as headlines, body copy, images, layout, etc) to be tested to improve conversion rate.
